Next Steps

If I were to continue studying the effects of sunscreen chemicals on the coral reef, I would look more into the finer point details, rather than the big picture displayed everywhere. I would find more information on water samples, and how our waterways are affected by chemical products. I would also further look into details on how we as humans are affected by the byproducts and if it causes lifelong changes. It also interests me in finding out if there is any way to restore coral damage.

Personal Connection

As someone who has travelled to Hawaii before, I have always been interested in why they had signs to use reef safe sunscreens.  When I was finally given a chance to research any topic tying into the curriculum, I used it to research why these laws were in place. After researching, I finally understood why this issue was important enough for studies to be conducted, laws to be created, and signs to be put in place.
